Honeycomb MoonStill Following the Bee: Crown Your Queen!

Intuitive COLLAGE Workshop for Women

Rosemary Court Yoga Studio, 810 Central Ave, Sarasota

Saturday, October 8, from 2:00-5:00PM

You sleep and dream, and in your dream you see a broad door with a heavy brass handle. When you turn the handle, before you appears the vast landscape of your imagination, the gateway to “possible,” to all that is magick. You dance into this dreamscape and a pathway opens up, straight and true, and you follow it to a massive throne, intricately carved and highly polished, which beckons you to sit. When you do, a golden crown, the color of sweet honey, appears and you place the crown on your head, declaring yourself Queen, sovereign of all you can imagine …

Come join us as we use the intuitive collage process as well as simple creative writing prompts to discover the throne of our imagination and crown ourselves Queen of all that is possible.

LogoIntuitive collage workshop for women, Saturday, April 16

The women came together, dancing and singing, under a star-littered sky, the nearly full moon rising just above the treetops. When their circle was formed, they grew silent, listening, hearing at first only the wind in the trees, the gurgling of the nearby river, the call of an owl in the distance. And then the sounds slowly came together to form one sound, one word, the key to their hopes and dreams: Impossible! At first the women were dismayed, until one of them, the one whose face glowed with excitement in the moonlight, said, “Well, aren’t we the lucky ones! There aren’t many who get to unlock the mystery to “Impossible.”

Come join us as we use the intuitive collage process, along with simple creative writing prompts, to find our own key to unlocking the mystery and crowning ourselves Queen of the Impossible.

Open Pricing *   Please pay generously and joy-fully, according to your means.

Sovereignty May 31, 2014

A large raven swoops out of a clear sky and picks me up in her gloved talons. As she flies toward the sun, I think of Icarus and wonder if we will be burned or fall to our deaths as the glue that holds wings and life together melts into nothingness. But this sun is not a hot sun, though it is bright. In what seems like seconds, the raven has dropped me onto the sun, its surface a golden cushion that becomes a throne on which I sit like a queen, the raven, now diminished in size, perching on my left shoulder.

I look about for my subjects but find none. The raven whispers in my ear, creating a great wind that stirs me to understanding: If I want subjects, I must create them myself. It seems that sovereignty does not come without responsibility and my first duty is to create beings to which I will be responsible.

“I thought it was the other way around,” I say to the raven. “I thought my subjects would be responsible to me, to my authority.”

The raven laughs.
